Advanced Materials and Devices Laboratory
University of California San Diego
Welcome.
Our research group is focused on exploring and designing thin-film-based materials and devices for the advancement of energy-efficient sensors and information technologies via an interdisciplinary approach that combines theory, numerical modeling, thin-film material synthesis, device fabrication, advanced structural, electric, and magnetic characterization, and also an array of microscopy techniques. To further augment our experimental work, we routinely utilize neutron, X-ray synchrotron, and X-ray free electron instrumentation at state-of-the-art U.S. Department of Energy user facilities.
Research
Our group pursues work in basic and applied research in sensor and information technologies, addressing a combination of fundamental questions and engineering problems that aids the creation and transfer of knowledge.
Partnerships
We strongly believe synergetic collaboration enriches and broadens the scope of any activity, and also provides opportunities to innovate and train technically diverse professionals capable of understanding and addressing complex problems.
